« BackSix gardaí in the Kerry Division promoted to sergeant

Six gardaí in the Kerry Division have been promoted to the rank of sergeant.
An Garda Síochána has announced that Detective Garda Sandra Kelly, Killarney; Detective Garda John Ryan, Tralee; and Detective Garda Garry Carroll, Tralee will all become sergeants.

Also being promoted are Garda Brigid Foley, Tralee; Garda Michael Murphy, Castleisland and Garda Ian Kelly, Ballybunion.

Meanwhile, Detective Sergeant John Brennan of Tralee has become an inspector.

Sergeant James Foley, Tralee has been appointed Crime Prevention Officer for the Division of Kerry; he replaces Sergeant Noel O’Connell who retired over two years ago.

Chief Superintendent Pat Sullivan has recommended that all of the new sergeants remain in the Kerry Division to allow vacancies to be filled.
