The new Kerry Chief Superintendent says previous roles including being head of the Cork city drugs squad will benefit him in his new position.

Chief Superintendent Tom Myers was recently promoted as part of a major reshuffle in the senior ranks of Gardaí in Cork and Kerry; the Gurranabraher native took up the new position last week.

Chief Supt Myers was previously head of the drugs squad in Cork, and also worked as a detective, mainly in Cork, and feels this experience will be beneficial.
